How the Club is Run

 

Whether you're a beginner just about to take your first lessons, an early solo pilot building your hours or an experienced glider pilot looking to fly cross country, our modern fleet of gliders is well suited to your needs!

With 3 dual controlled, two seat training gliders, a single seat glass fibre glass glider and a single seat wooden glider, our fleet provides a well balanced choice capable of supporting all aspects of pilot training.  In addition to the Club gliders, there are also a number of privately owned gliders kept on the site ranging from a vintage K6cr to a number of modern high performance glass fibre gliders.

 Club Gliders

K13

K13s (CCW and JZE) - these wooden dual-controlled gliders are used for basic training and early solo flying.

DG500 Elan (GBZ) - a high performance dual-controlled glider of glass fibre construction particularly suited to advanced training for post solo pilots and cross country training. 

K23 (GCF) - a single seat version of the popular K21 suitable for all levels of pilot, from early solo through to those wishing to undertake significant cross country flights. 
K6cr (HSN) - a single seat wooden glider, suitable for early solo pilots.

Launching Equipment

Our purpose built Skylaunch winch provides us with consistently reliable launches to around 1,400'- 1,600', although in some wind conditions launch heights in excess of 1,800' are easily attained.
